Oviganic acquires Queserías Prado

The agreement is now official, and it looks after the maintenance of jobs and agreements with supplier farms. The purchase represents an improvement in production through innovation.

The purchase agreement was made official late in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 31. This agreement includes the continuity of the twenty-five jobs, as well as the maintenance of the agreements established with all the supplier farms of raw material. There will be a smooth transition, which guarantees the maintenance of the production rhythm and the supply of cheese to all the distribution chains.

The operation is the result of the partnership with the Compostela livestock company Leite Noso, and represents a boost to the production capacity of Queserías Prado, making a commitment to innovation, with a view to consolidating its future expectations.

The cheese factory

Queserías Prado, like Oviganic Ibérica, has been located since 1982 in the O Reboredo Industrial Park, in the Galician city of Monforte de Lemos. It was born from a small family business, and in 2020 its annual turnover was around six million euros.

The cheese factory produces a wide variety of cheeses in different presentations: soft, classic, semi-fat, lactose-free, etc. One of its main products is the famous Queixo Tetilla, authenticated by the Regulatory Council of the Denominación de Orixe Protexida (Protected Designation of Origin)
